Getting started
What type of jobs are available on Indeed Flex?
We offer a wide range of short and long-term temporary roles, alongside temp-to-perm job opportunities, across a number of different industries including Hospitality, Retail, Industrial, Facilities Management and Business Support.
These roles range from waiting staff, to chefs, to warehouse operatives, to retail assistants, to cleaners, to sales support, and beyond. There’s something to suit everyone.
What requirements do I need to meet to join Indeed Flex?
We try to make it as simple as possible to join Indeed Flex. However, as a minimum, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have relevant Right To Work documents (see here for more information)
- Have a smartphone, as we’re an app-based service
- Have a registered UK bank account
Can I use Indeed Flex as a long-term career solution?
Yes – we provide temp roles and shift work, but we also offer long-term and temp-to-perm roles, dependent on the company. In fact, we’ve chosen to highlight these on the job cards you’ll see within the app. For example, you’ll see ‘Long-term’ at the bottom of some of them.
Can I find work with Indeed Flex even though I have limited experience and skills?
Some previous experience of roles is preferred, but many roles on the app require 3 – 6 months’ experience, rather than years, such as picker packer, retail assistant, kitchen porter, general staff, sales support, and so on.
Full details of the experience and skills required per role are made visible within the job’s description.
How soon can I start working for Indeed Flex?
Once you’ve found and applied for a job on the app within your area, successfully passed your interview, and completed our onboarding process, you should be able to start booking jobs straight away.
Can I work multiple roles at the same time?
Yes, as long as you’ve successfully passed your interview and have the required skills and experience to carry them out.
For example, taking Hospitality as one industry, you may be able to work as waiting staff, a bartender, and festival staff.
Or you may be able to work across multiple industries e.g. as a forklift truck driver, a retail assistant, or security staff.
What locations does Indeed Flex have jobs in?
We have jobs nationwide – spanning the whole of the UK.
How does Indeed Flex ensure the quality and reliability of job opportunities?
We thoroughly vet all companies before we allow them on board – they have to meet our strict guidelines when it comes to the wellbeing (both physical and mental) of Flexers.
They also have to post jobs that will appeal to Flexers, challenge them, and meet their expectations – giving them a positive experience.
And Flexers can rate companies, giving them even greater reason to provide quality opportunities.
What types of benefits are available to Flexers?
We offer market-leading benefits including insurances (such as sick pay and family leave), wellbeing services (including Digital GP and Online physio), and savings on big brands, when you’ve worked the required number of shifts.
We also offer Instant Pay – allowing you to access up to 70% of your earnings immediately after working a shift.
On top of this, we offer bonuses through our referral programmes, regular prize draws, seasonal pay increases, and free training for certain roles.
All of the above are dependent on set eligibility criteria.
Where do I go to get help?
You can get help in a number of ways – all through the app.
Firstly, you can watch our video tutorials, covering topics like ‘How to book a shift’ and ‘The importance of your profile’.
You can also search our FAQs for answers to the questions we’re most frequently asked.
And if you can’t find the answer(s) you’re looking for by going either of those routes, you can ask us questions via the Live Chat function in the app.

How do I download the app?
Depending on your mobile device; head to the App Store or Google Play, search for the Indeed Flex app, and start the download.
How do I make my profile stand out?
There are a few simple things you can do to make your profile truly shine and grab the attention of companies:
- Add a good, professional looking picture.
- Summary: add your bio, including relevant skills and experience, and a couple of details that show off your personality.
- Work experience: add any roles you’ve covered in the past, under ‘Skills & Experiences’, selecting ‘Save’ after adding each one.
- Work preferences: add your location, availability, and preferred pay rate.
How do I get verified?
How do I get verified?
Once you apply for your first job with Indeed Flex, you’ll be invited to an interview with an Indeed Flex recruiter, during which you’ll need to provide the correct Right to Work documents and confirm your skills and experience relevant to the role you’ve applied for.
Having successfully completed your interview, you’ll be verified to freely browse and book jobs, provided they’re available in your area and match your preferences.
Can I get verified even if there are no jobs in the area?
Unfortunately not. We don’t want to waste your valuable time as a candidate, so we won’t verify you unless we know we can match your needs to available jobs in your area, which suit your skills and experience.
But it’s worth checking the app on a regular basis, as new jobs and companies are being added on a daily basis.
Will I receive notifications when more jobs become available in my area?
Yes, you will. You’ll receive emails, texts, and push notifications, so you don’t miss out on the roles you want.
What do I need to prepare before the interview?
There are four main things you need to consider before interview:
- Remember to bring your Right to Work documents (usually your passport, proof of National Insurance number, or share code)
- Appearance: dress to impress. If you’re going for a hospitality role, wear what you’d wear for the job. If in doubt, a plain white shirt and dark trousers are ‘safe’.
- Be prepared to discuss your skills and experience relative to the role you’ve applied for – are there any past examples which show that you’re the right person for the job?
- Be ready to ask some questions about the role. It shows you’re interested and really want it.
Do I have to interview for each role?
Not always. It depends on the role(s).
For example, you can be qualified as general staff, waiting staff, festival staff, and bar work without having to have separate interviews for each role.
However, if it’s a specialist role, you’ll need a separate interview. For instance, if you want to be a delivery driver, you’ll have to show you have experience of driving a 3.5tn vehicle.
And, of course, you can’t undertake a role as a chef without proving you have previous experience as one.
What information do I need to provide to get verified?
First and foremost, you need your Right to Work documents, which prove you’re allowed to work in the UK.
You also need to fill in your profile with all relevant information: most importantly, the skills and experience that you have in relation to the role(s) you’re applying for.
What are Right To Work Documents?
Right to Work documents are those which prove you have the legal right to work in the UK. They can be broadly split in three groups:
- If you’re a UK citizen, these documents will be your valid, in-date passport.
- If you’re a UK citizen but have lost your passport, or it’s expired, the required documents are your driving licence (or another form of official photo ID), your birth certificate, and proof of your National Insurance number.
- If you’re a non-UK citizen, you’ll need a share code, which you can get at gov.uk/prove-right-to-work
How and where do I upload my Right to Work documents?
If you’re a UK citizen, during your interview you’ll be sent a link to complete a Right To Work check online. You’ll need to take a picture of the front page of your passport, and a selfie. The system will then check that the document is genuine and the facial match.
If you’re a non-UK citizen, you’ll be asked for your share code during the interview.

How do I book a job?
You can book a job in one of two ways:
- Head to the ‘Browse’ tab on the app, look for a job that suits your skills, experience, and location, tap on that job, then select ‘Apply’. That job will appear under the ‘Applied’ category (top of the screen) within the ‘My Jobs’ tab. If the company accepts your application, that job will then appear under the ‘Offered’ category. You can then select ‘Book job’, moving the role to the ‘Booked’ category.
- Head to the ‘My Jobs’ tab on the app, where you’ll see ‘Offered’ jobs. These are jobs that have been offered to you directly by a company, based upon your skills and experience matching the criteria of the role they have to offer. In this instance, you just need to tap on that job, and tap ‘Book shift’ as quickly as possible. That job should then be yours, and will appear within the ‘Booked’ category.
In both cases, the job will appear on your Home screen as your next, upcoming shift. You’ll need to confirm your attendance at least 24 hours before the start time.
Booked, Offered, and Applied: What’s the difference?
It’s pretty simple.
Applied = you’ve simply applied for that role, but not yet been accepted for it. You’ll have to wait and see if the company decides to offer it to you.
Offered = the company wants to take you on – the role has been offered to you, so grab it with both hands before any other Flexers do!
Booked = The job is yours. That’s it – it’s in the bag. All you have to do now is confirm your attendance (at least 24 hours in advance), turn up to the shift wearing the correct uniform, and clock in. We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your shift start time, just to be fully prepared.
Payment
How do I get paid for the jobs I complete through Indeed Flex?
You’ll receive your hard-earned wages in the account you gave us when you entered your bank details into the app, under ‘Profile’.
The beauty of working through Indeed Flex is that it’s all about choice. In this instance, you can choose how you get paid.
You can get paid on a weekly basis, via payroll, with all of your wages going into your account on the Friday following the week in which you worked.
Or…
You can choose to access your earnings immediately after a shift, with Instant Pay. This allows you to withdraw up to 70% of your wages, straight into your account.
You’ll receive the remainder on the following Friday, as mentioned above.
Can I get paid daily?
Yes. See answer concerning Instant Pay.
Via our partner, FlexEarn, you can withdraw up to 70% of your earnings on the same day as the one on which you’ve just worked.
How can I view my payslip?
You can view your payslip online, via PayCircle.
We’ll send you an email to create an account for PayCircle, on your first pay day.
You can then log in whenever you want, and view your payslips online.
