Helping a colleague who’s busy and struggling with their workload will go a long way not only with them but with the wider team. Being a team player also means knowing when to follow instructions and when to lead, so pay attention to when it’s time to listen and when to put your ideas forward.
Find a mentor
Finding a permanent member of staff who could be a good mentor in terms of getting to grips with new tasks, understanding the business and possible progression is a really good idea. In addition, having a mentor will help you perform better at your job and will demonstrate to the employer that you’re dedicated to the position and will be a good member of staff to keep around.
