Who’s working this week? It’s lovely to see so many of you working lots of great shifts in every region. Although peak season is incredibly exciting, it can also be very chaotic and stressful at times. We want to make sure your shifts are as stress-free as possible, therefore here are our top tips for staying calm this peak season.

1. Plan ahead

Make sure you double-check the uniform requirements and the venue location for the shift you are booked in for, you don’t want to show up to a shift to be suddenly turned away. Not only should you check the shift requirements but make sure you know how you are getting to the venue. Travel across the UK is always busy in December so, make sure your route is disruption-free!

2. Take time for you

We understand peak season is a good time to work new shifts and earn great money, however, you shouldn’t forget to look after yourself. The festive period is a special time for many, therefore, make sure you are doing things you love around your shifts. How about going for a run? Going to the cinema? Or going out for lunch with friends? Make sure you treat yourself for all the hard work you are doing!

3. And breathe…

We want you to perform your very best on each shift and therefore we want to make sure you are taking a minute to breathe, refocus and compose yourself when things are getting a little crazy.

4. Time is your friend

There are a few things you can do in order to not feel panicked before your shift has even begun. We recommend arriving with plenty of time to spare. You don’t want to turn up late or with only a few minutes before your start time, this will make you feel rushed. Make sure you start each shift calmly and ready to do a great job. Another top tip would be to arrive already in your uniform if you can. We understand this might not be an option for everyone, but it’s a great way to feel already prepared and ready to go.
