Catering Assistant

Catering Assistants - Blackburn (BB7)

Pay: £14.76 per hour (inclusive of £1.59 holiday pay)

We’re looking for experienced Catering Assistants to join our team in Blackburn. Please note, you will be required to complete a DBS Standard for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high standards of cleaning and housekeeping across patient areas, including routine, deep, clinical, admission, and infection-control cleans to maintain a safe, hygienic environment.
• Serve meals to patients while maintaining excellent customer service, patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
• Safely handle waste, cleaning chemicals, and equipment in accordance with infection control, COSHH, and health and safety regulations, reporting faults and removing defective equipment from service.
• Operate and maintain cleaning machinery and supplies correctly, ensuring all equipment is clean, secure, and stored safely while following colour-coded cleaning systems and approved procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the team, completing required training, complying with company policies, and promoting a positive, professional approach to patient care and workplace safety.

What we’re looking for:

• Minimum 6 months’ experience working in a cleaning/ hospitality/ customer service role.
• Must be 18 or over with the right to work in the UK.
• Must complete Food Safety Level 2 or Allergens certificates.
• Must complete a DBS Standard for this role (free of charge).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• A team player who thrives in busy environments.
