So, what exactly is an ‘upskilling session’?
An upskilling session is designed to boost your skills and give you new ones. These particular events are specifically for Flexers working in the hospitality sector. They take place over two hours and will teach you certain things which are essential to being successful in a waiting staff role. You’ll be assessed on the day, and provided you pass that assessment, your new skill (Academy Events Waiter) will be added to your profile, making you stand out to prospective employers.

What will I actually learn on the day?
The sessions will cover a number of things in relation to offering high-quality service as waiting staff, but will mainly focus on:
– 3-plate waiting
– 5-star service standards
– Table setting standards
– Wine service
– Event Team/Snake service
– Service etiquette
One last thing: what should you wear?
You’ll be expected to dress in the full uniform you’d wear for a waiting staff shift.
