As a food preparation assistant, your role is to support the kitchen staff in the preparation and production of meals.
You’ll also be responsible for helping with the preparation of ingredients, by cutting, chopping, and measuring, as well as keeping track of inventory and ensuring that all supplies are stocked.
Food prep assistants also maintain the kitchen’s cleanliness, by washing and sanitising utensils, equipment, and workspaces.
Additionally, food prep assistants often help with food plating, presentation, and garnishing. And you may be asked to handle basic cooking tasks, such as boiling, frying, or baking.
